I wasted a good two hours trying everything that I could think (restarting my computer, erasing the software and re-downloading it multiple times, trying other wmv files) and the list goes on.

After I downloaded the software, I went to burn my movie, but every time I uploaded my movie to DVD Creator it was distorted, music was skipping, et cetera. Since I had found the software easy to use, I decided to go and purchase it from Amazon.easy peasy right? Wrong. The free trial, however, when you go to burn the DVD puts a watermark of the software logo right in the middle of your movie. I had tried the "free trial" from their website and liked how it seemed really easy. I have Windows 8 and therefore this is why I bought the product, since Windows Movie Maker does not support a burn to DVD option anymore. All I want to do is group footage together and burn it to a disc.who would of thought it would be so hard? I have googled around to try and get a fix from people who have posted this issue but none of the fixes have worked for me and you reach the point where the fail rate becomes to high to continue.Again, I really had high hopes for this program but in the end it was a big dissapointment. but in the end after wasting about 5 hours on this software it is time to move on and find another option. Unfortunately it has failed with every attempt on the final step.Sometimes it will freeze at 40%, or 50%, or 90%. It is a shame because this software is high level and gets you 90% there without a hitch.

I am on a Mac and needed something that would allow me to burn DVD's with chapters from my external DVD drive.I am glad that I did not purchase the full version due to the fact that it keeps freezing with every attempt to import files and burn them to a disc. It has a great interface and installed with minimal effort. I really really wanted this product to work.

It took me a while to figure out how to shift items on the timeline without having to move everything over manually. All and all, it did what I wanted it to do and it had good transitions and video effects. Also, it wasn't the most intuitive software either. If I would have done more research, I would have bought one of those instead. There are other video editing software at the same price that do these things. There was an option to raise and lower the volume on the audio, but I didn't notice any changes when applied. Also, it do not have the ability to normalize audio to take out the extreme changes in volume between clips and between the music and dialog. One of these things included the ability to reverse (play backward) a video on the timeline.I had to use a third-party (mercifully free) application to do it. Worked well for what I wanted to do, but was missing key elements that I didn't noticed until I was completed editing my video and thus didn't want to re-do the entire thing using another software package. Overall I think Nero is pretty good and not a bad price for a licensed blueray player. The control center sets itself to autolaunch at boot (like Adobe ARM and other pests) which you can kill with autoruns since the updates will be pretty infrequent (like never on this ancient stuff) after the initial install/update.

Like most apps the apps on the disc (that was actually cheaper than the download) are old, you can install them but it will require update. Easy to add run as administrator to the shortcut so no issues there. Thought at first that was broken until I enabled the built-in administrator and it launched fine.

One thing on the locked down (google Windows 10 STIG - slightly relaxed build of that) build I do the blueray player has to be run as administrator. In actuality I got Nero 12 working fine on Windows 10 Pro without a problem so I really didn't need to upgrade. Going to move to HP 800 G1 Minis with no optical drive so no further need for Nero. I'll never buy any edition of Nero newer than 2015 unless and until they put the blueray player back (despite almost never playing them myself) as I have these for HP 800 G1 USDT machines with blueray players as HTPCs.
Who cares about 4K etc I have Vegas and other software for that. As others point out 2016 no longer has a blueray player license.
Have Nero 12 Platinum, Nero 2014 Platinum and Nero 2016 Platinum in addition to two license for this. Bought because it works on Windows 10 without issue.
